KH1 Cave of Wonders Ape Statue Papercraft

In the Agrabah (Disney Aladdin) area of the Kingdom Hearts 1 video game, the player must enter the "Cave of Wonders". Among other things inside the Cave of Wonders are statues of apes holding enormous gems. This paper model is of one of those statues. The build photo above is by TouchFuzzyGetDizzy, the designer of the papercraft. He has made his Pepakura PDO template for the statue available on DeviantART.

Monkey Opera Paper Theater

Monkey:Journey to the West is a nine act contemporary opera inspired by a Chinese legend about the adventures of a monkey who hatches out of a stone egg. The production of the opera involves acrobatics, singing, animation and electronic music by the co-creators of Gorillaz. What's not to love about this opera? This paper theater depicts act one of the opera and is available for download here. Eight additional scenes will be available sometime in the future.

Simple Sock Monkey Papercraft

Everyone loves sock monkeys. A unique North American craft item, the first sock monkeys are thought to have been created sometime in the early 20th Century. Sock monkeys are crafted from the signature red heeled socks manufactured by the Nelson Knitting Mills (now Fox River Mills). The stuffed monkeys had become popular enough by 1920 that the Nelson Knitting Mills began including instructions on how to build them with every pair of red heeled socks they sold. This simple papercraft sock monkey was created by Tyler Tinsley in 2008 and may be downloaded here.

Monkey King Paper Toy

As I have said before, monkeys always make me smile, and this one is no exception. This colorful monkey is the work of Belgian artist "Fossfor" and may be downloaded from her Flickr page here. As if you couldn't tell, the title of this paper toy is "Monkeyking".^^

Monkey vs. Robot Papertoys

I mentioned in a previous post that I have a fondness for monkeys and robots. Here is a papertoy set with both! :) This pair is from the "Brickboy" papertoy series. Together they are a set titled "Monkey vs. Robot". What I like best about the battling duo are the whimsical details like the robot's escape hatch on top and the monkey's bare bottom. These easy to build papertoys were designed by Sjors Frimbach, Netherlands, 2005 and can be found here.
