Stantum demonstrated Multitouch touch screen resistive type

Stantum Japan has demonstrated a prototype of a regular touch screen Multitouch, wrote Slash Gear. This platform is based on a Netbook Dell Mini 10 and uses a touch screen resistive type. Although most of the touch screen display in the world belong to the category of capacitive type, it is no secret that the resistive panel more responsive.

As stated, this prototype beautifully "understands" all the gestures, including depression, and in this respect, he differs nothing from the panels of capacitive type. Moreover, it consumes much less energy, and last but not least, to a lesser extent exposed to interference from other wireless networks. According to the Japanese, the cost of such panels substantially lower compared to the displays manufactured using other technologies. Another note that the technology of their production is very simple.

According to the Stantum, the Japanese company plans to start series production of touch panels of this type with sizes ranging from 2.5 to 30 inches. Thus, one can assume that this technology will be used not only in smartphones and MID, but also a full-featured mobile systems and large-format monitors. It is unclear when the first commercial products based on this technology.
